A small Indian grocery store with much on offer despite the size. Plus the fruits/vegetables are kept in a refrigerated room.

Amazingly clean store with a wonderful Indian food selection of fresh, frozen and packaged delights. We are transplants from Miami and have a difficulty getting the produce we use regularly. At Janta's they have everything fresh Caribbean. The frozen selection is out of this world. They always have the appropriate food and spices for Indian holidays. I love the variety of paneer cheese they have and the Spices are plentiful. If you have ever decided to explore Indian cuisine this is the store for you.

Jantā isn't actually a farmers market, but rather an Indian grocery store, and a really good one. The name Jantā - say JUN-tah - is a Hindi word for something like a market or public facility. I don't do Indian cooking (glad this market's right next door to the Sunrise Supermarket, since I do cook Chinese a lot!). I'm not Indian - my grandmother and 23andme agree that I'm 100% northern European. So there's a lot I can't comment on. So - They have a very extensive selection of Indian frozen foods - I'm always stocked up on saag paneer from there. Worth a trip to the store just for that. In the back of the store there's a large refrigerated room well stocked with fruits and vegetables, both familiar and exotic - I've been getting my ataúlfo mangos there all season. Worth a trip to the store just for that, too. I photographed it for you. They also carry a considerable selection of seasonal Hindu religious and cultural items, though this elderly Episcopalian isn't able to comment on them. If they have a Web site, I can't find it. There's a Jantā Farmers Market in Chattanooga, also.

Brand new and super clean inside. Now this is open, it is the largest Indian Grocer in Knoxville so it will be interesting to see how prices go. The specials really are special. Impressive selection on just about anything. I didn't see any meats but they could have been there. My advice is to get a cart and avoid the rolling baskets as they are hard to maneuver around corners. Check out was quick and efficient and there is plenty of close parking which is well policed. A nice addition.

KUDOS to the staff for providing supreme quality customer service! The food and grocery items are very diverse and inexpensive. The quality of the groceries is top notch, and we even had fresh sugarcane juice with lime and ginger. The ambiance is very quiet, and the music is very soothing. I highly recommend all to come and visit to support this local business!
